Updated: We’ve been hoping for and anticipating this news for a while, but it’s finally here: Wendy Davis just announced that she is running for Texas governor:

“Thirty-two years ago, I walked across this stage, the granddaughter of farmers from Muleshoe, Texas, who could only afford to rent the land they farmed,” Davis said at the Wiley G. Thomas Coliseum in Haltom City, Texas, the same venue where she received her high school diploma.

Texas Republican introduces bill to ban abortions after six weeks

Yesterday was a bad day for abortion access in Texas. Governor Rick Perry signed the state’s new law banning abortions after 20 weeks, and hours later a Republican state represenative filed a proposed bill to restrict reproductive options even further. At RH Reality Check Robin Marty writes:
