It’s kind of laughable that as GOP denial continues with their whole “the ‘war on women’ is a myth” talking points on the airwaves and talk shows, GOP state legislation continues to dig themselves in a deeper and deeper hole with state legislation that completely screws Americans with uteri and their families. Here are a few tidbits of what’s happened in just the past week:
- Tomorrow, the country’s longest waiting period is set to go into effect in Utah, which will force patients to wait 72 hours before getting an abortion.
- The House of Reps in Kansas just passed a bill that would force doctors to lie to patients about the health risks of abortion, allow pharmacists to refuse to dispense birth control and even allow medical practitioners to refuse a patient cancer treatment if they believed it would harm a fetus’ health.
- Following in Texas’ footsteps (which was overturned, thankfully), Arizona Governor Jan Brewer just signed a bill that bans public funding of Planned Parenthood or any other organization that provides abortion care, which could take away accessible health care for thousands in the state.
I think they should just throw out the denialism talking points and put this guy on the air, whom we posted about back in 2005 (h/t to Jess and Katie):
GOP ain’t got nothing on creepy singing fetus.

As a young woman who’s grown up knowing that contraceptives are always available this is truly scary. What is making our society go backwards on so many issues that were resolved decades ago?! Also on a side note, that video is plan disturbing.
