Is Mother Nature Sexist?

Women suffer more from climate change than men, according to a recent report . Because they take care of family, and make up the majority of the agricultural workforce (the sector hardest hit by climate change), women in developing nations suffer much more than men. From the article :

<quote>Women make up a large share of the agricultural work force, which is directly impacted by the effects of climate change. They also manage households and care for family members — which restricts their mobility — and often lack the social capital necessary to deal effectively with climate change.</quote>

However, women are an important part of climate change. Through education, birth control, and voluntary population reduction, women can prepare their communities for the environmental changes yet to come.

So, global warming is a feminist issue, too.
