Texas takes a stand for abortion access again today. Here’s what you can do.

Time to Testify. Stand With Texas Women. Texas house State Affairs Committee. July 2nd at 3:30pm. E 2.030 Texas Capitol

Remember when a horrible anti-choice bill in Texas was defeated just last week in a special session? When folks from all over Texas gathered to voice their opposition, and Wendy Davis filibustered the bill, becoming our new feminist hero? Well, the antis are throwing a temper tantrum and have called another special session. Governor Rick Perry et al are having a very hard time accepting the fact that the #feministarmy will not let this slide (I imagine Perry’s also upset and refusing to accept defeat because he’s going to lose the governor’s mansion to Wendy Davis in the 2014 election).

There will be committee hearings for the new versions of the anti-choice and anti-access bills starting at 3:30 today. Organizers are looking for Texans to go to the Capitol and sign up to testify against the bills. Jessica Luther has posted a run down of what folks can do to help, and here’s the Stand With Texas Women coalition’s Facebook event for today’s hearings.

We’ll keep you updated on the goings on in Texas. We don’t currently know if organizers will be taking food donations today, or what other support they could use from outside the state, but we’ll keep you updated on that as well. Clear eyes, full hearts, can’t lose.
