Happy Birthday Maya!

Maya shows us her claws
Maya attack!

It’s Maya’s birthday!

Maya’s a newish member of the blog team here, and I’m so freaking psyched we’ve got her voice on the site. She’s been an invaluable addition, from organizing us to bowl for abortion access (and being officially the best bowler on Team Feministing) to calling out conservative asshat-ery about scary polar bears and womens and black peoples on stamps and rejecting super offensive “human rights” campaigns to brilliant lists about better uses for taxpayer dollars than defending DOMA or different kinds of sex (for serious one of my favorite posts ever). Plus what’s not to love about her love of sexy charts?

I’m particularly grateful to Maya for bringing the much needed funny back into feminism. Cause seriously, what the hell’s the point of being part of a movement where we don’t get to laugh? Maya makes me laugh, like a lot.

Please join the entire Feministing crew in wishing Maya a very happy birthday!
