Today is Rally for Girls’ Sports Day.

Big time anti-choicer Joe Pitts (R-PA), co-author of the shitty Stupak-Pitts Amendment which banned abortion funding in health care reform (to ridiculous degrees), has been named the chair of the Health Subcommittee in the within the Energy and Commerce Committee. Serious boo on that one.

Aretha Franklin has been diagnosed with untreatable pancreatic cancer. Let’s hope the Queen of Soul can beat it.

The DREAM Act is getting a vote tonight (in the House and Senate), and it’s possible Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell will too. Check back tomorrow for results from those votes, and fingers crossed for DREAM!!
