Thank you for believing in us

A few weeks ago, we came to you with some really scary news: Feministing was one big fundraising push from shutting down. We asked our readers if you would consider investing in our sustainability by becoming monthly supporters, allowing us to raise enough money to commit to staying open in 2018.

Taking a moment to be grateful for my feminist community

Confession: As a Type A personality, and a young Latina feminist, I have a tendency to hold myself to very high standards. I assume that I should know everything, and be able to accomplish all tasks set to me, without help, sleep, or tears. I feel like by now, I should have figured out my identity years ago, and be a perfect activist who uses all the right inclusive terms and never offends anyone. Needless to say, I fall short of my impossible standards quite frequently, but I have stuck with this work because of the people who have supported me in becoming my best self. Thank you for funding Feministing #TimesTen!

We did it! Our Kickstarter campaign ended last night, with 1,037 of you contributing to Feministing #TimesTen for a funding total of $38,958. With this money we’ll be able to relaunch the site, build the groundwork to make Feministing sustainable, and start to pay our whole crew for their hard work.

And of course thank you so much to everyone who donated! We’re so grateful for all your support. In addition to contributing, thank you for tweeting, facebooking, and telling your friends ...

What happened over the last week, as hundreds and then thousands of Texans showed up in person to protest incredibly restrictive anti-choice and anti-access abortion bills, that was the most beautiful spark I’ve ever seen. By ...
