Judge rules company within rights to fire employee for being trans

Last Thursday, a federal court judge in Detroit ruled that a funeral home had the right to fire Aimee Stephens because she came out as trans. This case adds to the climate of transphobia our country has been dealing with this year and could have national consequences for trans people’s employment rights.

Why I’m Not Thrilled This Pride

June marks the beginning of Pride Month with its rainbow flags, rainbow shoes, rainbow glitter, rainbow…everything. And while I love my rainbow as much as the next kid, this year, the celebration feels shallow.

Video of the Day: Funny or Die’s Tennessee Tourism Video

Sometimes laughing is better than crying, and Funny or Die seems to get that. In response to Tennessee’s anti-gay counseling bill currently pending on the governor’s desk, they made a tongue in cheek “anti-gay tourism” video. It put the smile on my face that I didn’t even know I needed.
