We’ve made some changes to the Feministing team recently that I am very excited to announce:
Alexandra Brodsky, who has been an Editor since 2013, is stepping up to become Senior Editor. Alexandra joined the Feministing team in 2012 as a winner of the “So You Think You Can Blog” contest. She has written for publications including The New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, the Washington Post, The Nation, The American Prospect, and Dissent, and she is the co-editor of an anthology, The Feminist Utopia Project. Alexandra previously served as a founding co-director of Know Your IX, the student-led campaign to end gender violence. After her graduation from Yale Law School this spring, she will represent girls facing discriminatory school disciplinary actions as a Skadden Fellow at the National Women’s Law Center.
Dana Bolger, Sesali Bowen, and Juliana Britto Schwartz are becoming Editors.
Dana has been writing at Feministing since 2014 and is also co-founder and Executive Director of Know Your IX. She has testified before Congress on Title IX policy and legislative reform and has written for outlets including The New York Times, Al Jazeera America, USA Today, and The Nation.
Sesali is Feministing’s resident “sexpert,” trap goddess, and professional shit talker. She is a queer Black girl, fat girl, and trainer. Sesali joined the team in 2012 as one of the winners of our So You Think You Can Blog contest. She was the former Training Director at the United States Student Association and later a member of the Youth Organizing team at Planned Parenthood Federation of America. She received her bachelors in Women’s and Gender Studies from DePaul University in 2012 and is currently pursuing a master’s in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality studies at Georgia State University in Atlanta.
Juliana is a digital storyteller for social change. As a writer at Feministing since 2013, her work has focused on women’s movements throughout the Americas for environmental justice, immigrant rights, and reproductive justice. In addition to her writing, Juliana is a Campaigner at Change.org. She is currently located in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
I’ve been working with this new editorial crew for the past couple months, and I’m so inspired by the vision and passion they’re bringing to the work. Please join me in congratulating Alexandra, Dana, Sesali, and Juliana on their new roles.
