No on Proposition 8

I was shocked to read today that the supporters of proposition 8, the ballot initiative which would take away the right of gays and lesbians to marry in California, are ahead by 4 points.  How are they doing this?  By running fear-mongering ads, funded by wealthy homophobic supporters like the Mormon church.  Gay marriage is a right, granted by the California supreme court, and we can not let it be taken away from us.

If you live in California or know someone who does, please do whatever you can to defeat this proposition – vote against it, talk to your neighbors, write letters, even call or canvass other voters.  And even if you don’t live in California, please donate money to protecting marriage rights for GLBT citizens of that state.  I know the economy sucks, and I know money is tight for a lot of people, but running effective ad campaigns is one of the best ways to get to undecided voters.  Visit here to donate and find out how you can get involved.
