Blog Action Day on Poverty

Thousands of bloggers signed up to take part in Blog Action Day on Poverty on October 15 by writing about poverty–its causes, its effects and possible solutions. The staff at the National Women’s Law Center have been busy blogging about a number of different aspects of poverty, from families struggling to find affordable quality child care, to those unable to access adequate health coverage.

A recent analysis by NWLC found that last year there were 14.4 million women living in poverty, and the poverty rate for women was 42 percent higher than for men. Check out NWLC’s series of posts on this important issue: http://nwlc.blogs.com/womenstake/blog-action-day-2008/
