Victoria Argañaraz is a 19 year-old artist in Argentina. In one of her most recent pieces, she calls out countries that practice devout Catholicism and preach mercy and generosity towards those who need help, yet deny women life-saving abortions. Pictured below is the Virgin Mary holding not Jesus Christ, but a naked woman bleeding between her legs. Written over the image in Spanish are the words “Legal abortion so we don’t die.”
