Photo of the Day: Ferguson police fire tear gas on protestors

On another night of protests in Ferguson, police, decked out in riot gear, semi-automatic weapons, and armored vehicles, fired rubber bullets and smoke bombs on unarmed crowds and arrested more than a dozen people, including two journalists. Antonio French, a St. Louis alderman who has been documenting the protests on social media from the start, was also arrested. As he said after his release, “In an American city people are being tear gassed and snipers are pointing rifles at them when they are peacefully assembling.”
