US Boxing Champ in Feminist Anthem

This is what you get when a male feminist/songwriter challenges the reigning US Women’s Boxing Champion @DanyelleWolf to a fight.

I consider myself a male feminist, though I don’t love the word “feminist.” I think it repels those who most need to embrace it’s meaning: “Advocating social, political, legal, and economic rights for women equal to those of men.” I see and hear men cringing and getting defensive at the mention of the word more because it sounds girly or anti-male before they can listen long enough to understand that it simply means equality.

Changing how staunch misogynists hear any word starting with “fem” is more of a task than it needs to be.  So, I wrote “Boss Señorita”, a feminist/girl power anthem, in a way any music-loving chauvinist could appreciate… a badass blues song.

I have stayed up countless nights to create art that is as entertaining as it is meaningful and I’ve never felt so strongly about achieving that goal than with this new song and the video my wife, Sharisse Coulter (aka Boss Señorita #1), and I produced for it. I hope you enjoy.
