This is such a good analogy! AIG CEO Robert Benmosche says the outcry over his company’s bonuses is like a lynch mob, “to get everybody out there with their pitch forks and their hangman nooses, and all that — sort of like what we did in the Deep South [decades ago]. And I think it was just as bad and just as wrong.”

Scott Lively, who is on trial for crimes against humanity, thanks to his involvement in Uganda’s Kill the Gays Bill, has another major achievement under his homophobic belt: helping Russia craft its homophobic legislation. And he says, “it’s one of the proudest achievements of my career.” Awwww!

The Pope shocked many by telling the Catholic Church to stop obsesessing over abortion and homosexuality. The Pope also surprised some by saying great things about immigrants’ rights. But then The Pope shocked nobody by defrocking an Australian priest, allegedly over his support of women’s and gay rights. Sigh.
