Awesome NYC Event Alert: Feminist writers talk parenting
Talk about a serious feminist lovefest. Jezebel founder and WashPo writer Anna Holmes, author and writer Rebecca Traister, and HuffPo Lifestyle editor Lori Leibovich will be joining our Jessica for a talk at 92YTribeca tomorrow talking about parenthood and Jess’ new book, Why Have Kids?.*
They’ll be discussing about the tons of topics that the book addresses, which has not surprisingly been sparking a ton of conversation online, specifically about what it means to be a parent today, and how crappy policies and terrible cultural expectations make us feel shamed and miserable in the process. (You know, like when you pitch a story about these important issues and a major news organization asks you to write instead about how you lost your baby weight. Yes, really.)
Tickets are $15; the conversation starts at 7pm. 200 Hudson Street. Be there.
*I should also mention that I received some inside intel that there may be some post-event feminist cocktails happening at a nearby bar afterwards. APPROVE.
