I highly doubt that a “personhood” amendment would ever pass in California, one of the most pro-choice states in the country.

Unfortunately, that’s what people said about Prop 8. Never underestimate the power of the church when it comes to influencing voters in California.

A good point about Prop. 8, though I think it highly unlikely that such an amendment would pass here it is important not to become complacent.

Just curious though – what church do you mean by “the church”? Often when people use “the church” for the Catholic Church (who are by no means uninvolved in such issues) but my understanding is that Prop. 8 was largely pushed through with LDS money and support.

According to my local news, there are plans in the works for another personhood amendment in Colorado also. http://www.kktv.com/home/headlines/Abortion_Foes_To_Try_Again_In_Colorado_134253063.html
