Roe v. Wade anniversary approaching; intense party-planning ensues

Photobucket
As the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade decision is approaching (dated January 22nd), massive parties and fundraisers in celebration and support are in the works. And with this coming year’s anticipated attacks on reproductive justice, there’s no better time to start mobilizing.

The fabulous Shelby Knox and Steph Herold are throwing a huge party on Saturday the 22nd at a joint in downtown NYC (see to the right) with tons of awesome feminists and organizations attending (including some Feministing folk!); all proceeds will go to the New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF).

Feminists for Choice also has a round-up of a few other parties happening (in Tuscon, Dallas and NYC). NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon is hosting a “Chocolate for Choice” party and I’m loving Planned Parenthood Shasta Pacific and NARAL Pro-Choice California’s 70s party to commend the 1973 ruling. (See comments below for the yummy, disco-ballin’ details.) Also, screenings in Chicago for the documentary, Silent Choices.

What are you doing for Roe v. Wade’s anniversary? We want to include other events outside of NYC on here, so add any events you know of in comments and I’ll add it to the post!
