Operation Rescue member found guilty for “wanted” posters

Philip "Flip" Benham

Philip “Flip” Benham of Operation Rescue (renamed to Operation Save America) has been found guilty by a North Carolina court of criminal stalking with intent to cause emotional distress and disruption of domestic tranquility for residential picketing. This is after he contested that distributing “wanted” posters of abortion providers was free speech and not, you know, potentially inciting violence.

He has received two years probation and ordered to stay away from the doctors he targeted. Check out Broadsheet for more, including what the actual “wanted” posters said, as well as noting (via NPR) that the last time these kinds of posters were made was in the late 1990s — when several providers were killed.
