Dr. Laura Ends Show to Become Racist Pundit

Good-bye, and good fucking riddance.

Dr. Laura announced on Larry King Live last night that she is officially ending her show so she can, aptly summed up by pourmecoffee, “spend more time with the n-word.” And that’s not even a joke:

“My contract is up for my radio show at the end of the year and I’ve made the decision not to do radio anymore,” Schlessinger told King, who also happens to be on his way out this year (for less incendiary reasons).

“The reason is I want to regain my First Amendment rights. I want to be able to say what’s on my mind and in my heart and what I think is helpful and useful without somebody getting angry, some special interest group deciding this is the time to silence a voice of dissent and attack affiliates, attack sponsors. I’m sort of done with that.”

She’s not retiring or quitting, she added, but rather, hopes to be “stronger and freer to say the things that I believe need to be said for people in this country.”

If you haven’t already read about Schlessinger’s show last week where she not only uses the n-word three times, but berates a black caller for being concerned about her husband’s friends’ racist jokes, connotes that she’s being “hypersensitive” as well as insists black people voted for Obama because he’s black.

Her announcement is obviously a call for a new venue that will allow her to spew her racist garbage, but I don’t even know if the likes of Fox News would have the senselessness to welcome Dr. Laura into their studio — particularly considering her new job would have been created out of a racist tirade. (But would we really put it past them?)
