Peruvian group launches first safe abortion hotline

, the news that Peru now has it’s own safe abortion hotline.
The hotline is an attempt to deal with the problem of illegal abortion, according to the hotline’s website. The laws in Peru currently only allow abortion if they life of the woman is in danger. This website gives women instructions on how to induce abortion using the medication misoprostol. The instructions are taken from the World Health Organization.
Their website clearly states this is a political act in the name of women’s health and against the criminalization of abortion.
Similar hotlines exist in Ecuador, Chile and Argentina.
