Ellen Page Rocks Our World

ellen page
In a recent Guardian interview, Juno star and self-proclaimed feminist Ellen Page talks about her role in Whip It (a flick directed by Drew Barrymore that’s all about kicking ass and female empowerment) among a whole lotta other feminist awesomeness that just makes me love her all the more. A highlight:

I am a feminist and I am totally pro-choice, but what’s funny is when you say that people assume that you are pro-abortion. I don’t love abortion but I want women to be able to choose and I don’t want white dudes in an office being able to make laws on things like this. I mean what are we going to do – go back to clothes hangers?

Heart.

I had no idea she was a feminist. I’ll definitely be supporting her work from now on!

Honestly, why must every pro-choice person make apologies for abortion? What is wrong with being pro-abortion?
