WAM! It Yourself: March 25-28

The Women Action and Media National Conference was postponed this year as the organization re-groups and re-launches their programming. In lieu of the national conference though, folks around the country are organizing events for this upcoming week. Events are currently scheduled in Boston, Chicago, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, New York City and San Antonio. There are also a few online events as well.

WAM! It Yourself is a brand-new, decentralized version of the annual Women, Action & the Media (WAM!) conference. This year, instead of everyone who cares about gender justice in media gathering in one place for WAM!, WAM! is happening exactly where you are.
Who’s invited? Media producers, PR strategists, journalists, activists, academics, community organizers, feminists, funders and philanthropists, “citizen” media watchdogs, media policy advocates, alternative-network-builders, bloggers, writers, teachers, artists, technology trainers, cartoonists, deejays…
