Hey Queens, let’s not re-elect the State Senator who was expelled for domestic violence.

PSA to all of our NYC/Queens folks:

You may or may not know, but next Tuesday on March 16 there will be a special election to replace State Senator Hiram Monserrate . You may remember Monserrate, the State Senator who was expelled from the State Senate after being convicted of domestic abuse? Well he’s running for his seat again. And has a very real chance of winning.

That’s why we need you. If you’re a locel and live in State Senate district 13 (that’s Corona, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, East Elmhurst, Lefrak City and Woodside folks), it’s essential that you make your voice heard, and vote on March 16.

If you want more information, our Planned Parenthood of New York City Action Fund has endorsed his opponent, Jose Peralta, and has a handy fact sheet of everything you should know about the candidates. Please spread the word too — on Facebook , Twitter , and whatever else you’ve got.

Because come on, when is enough going to be enough when it comes to violence against women?
