Why is it that the same people who want to get all up into women’s vaginas shudder at the mention of the word vagina and are unable to actually say it?

I guess the answer is obvious; the same people who are sadistic enough to make a woman undergo an invasive medically unnecessary procedure whose only goal is to punish a woman for using her vagina for anything but procreation, are probably a little bit uncomfortable with sexuality. Apparently The Daily Caller needs some ear muffs for their delicate sensibilities around the word “vagina.”

I’m not giving any linkage to this ridiculousness, but had to share the deets: there’s a piece featured on their front page today titled, “MSNBC Host Rachel Maddow’s new favorite word: ‘Vaginal’.” Over the course of 10 days while the recent Virginia transvaginal ultrasound legislation controversy was happening, not only did the author take time in his busy job delivering the news to track the number of times Maddow mentioned, “vagina” ...

BREAKING: Key VA Senate committee passes Personhood bill

Virginia’s Personhood bill now moves to the full Virginia Senate. ABC7 in Richmond reports:

A bill that would define life as starting at conception has been approved in a key Senate committee.

Eight Republicans voted for the measure, and the committee’s seven Democrats opposed it after an hour-long hearing on the bill that is similar to one in Missouri.

The bill passed after an amendment clarifying that no provision in it would restrict the use of federally approved contraception.

At least three times, the committee chairman, Sen. Steve Martin, threatened to have police remove opponents of the bill after they spoke out during debate.

There are only twenty Democrats in the Virginia Senate, so this bill ...

Shorter VA Governor: Women Should be Violated over Belly, not through Vagina

The overt is often more dangerous than the covert.

As many predicted, implementing the rape of women with ultrasounds and probes is not politically savvy. Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell, who had initially promised to sign the bill requiring women to undergo a transvaginal ultrasound before terminating a pregnancy has had a change of heart. Today, in a statement, The Governor asks the General Assembly to amend the bill, so that only a transabdominal, or external, ultrasound would be required.

For this reason, I have recommended to the General Assembly a series of amendments to this bill. I am requesting that the General Assembly amend this bill to explicitly state that no woman in Virginia will have to undergo a transvaginal ...

Virginia transvaginal ultrasound bill delayed after a thousand protest outside capitol

After a thousand people stood arm in arm outside of the Virginia state capitol in protest yesterday, the legislature decided to delay a vote on the highly controversial state-sanctioned rape bill that would require doctors to perform a medically unnecessary transvaginal ultrasound on individuals seeking an abortion.

This comes after a poll was just released revealed that 55% of voters in Virginia oppose the bill. Meanwhile, Gov. McDonnell’s spokesperson recently gave some indication the governor may be backing away from the bill (after previously saying it was a sure thing). But I’m not convinced of anything until this bill is good and dead, which it certainly is not. Not yet, at least.
