Jon Stewart talks vagina

Last night, The Daily Show took on the GOP’s War on Women and more specifically, its War on Vaginas. Last week, Michigan Democratic legislators Reps. Barb Byrum and Lisa Brown (W. Bloomfield) responded to a bill limiting access to abortion with a provision that would limit men’s access to vasectomies. While addressing the house, Brown said: “I’m flattered that you’re all so interested in my vagina, but no means no.” The Republican House Speaker banned the women from speaking because of “their comments and actions yesterday that failed to maintain the decorum of the House of Representatives.”

Florida Gov Rick Scott refuses to pee in a cup

Rick Scott, the unpopular Florida Gov who recently signed a law requiring welfare recipients to submit to a drug test before receiving their benefits, got a taste of his own medicine yesterday when The Daily Show‘s Aasif Mandvi confronted him at a press conference and demanded a urine sample.

It’s good joke–and it could even become a real policy initiative. Apparently, Georgia State Rep. Holcomb has introduced a bill requiring all state lawmakers to be drug-tested as well, saying “if required for the poor, we [lawmakers] need to do it, too.” Sounds fair.
