The 2012 Pulitzer Prize winners were announced today. Of the winners, a whopping 5 are women, while only 16 men made the cut this year. Step up dudes, you’re really falling behind in making every journalism award all about you. It’s like women are almost a third as valuable as men to journalism and the arts!

The winners include Sara Ganim and members of The Patriot-News Staff, who won the Local Reporting prize for their coverage of the Jerry Sandusky scandal. Notably, there were no awards in Editorial Writing or Fiction this year. Which seems a little insulting to everyone working in those fields, no?
