Republican presidential contenders compete for title of Biggest Abortion Hater to court anti-choice org’s support

On Wednesday night, the GOP’s best and, um, brightest (?) got together for a gala hosted by the deceptively-named Susan B. Anthony List. Hoping to get the prominent anti-choice group’s endorsement in the 2016 presidential primaries, the Republican contenders all shamelessly pandered to the anti-choice fringe.

Candy Crowley will be the first woman to moderate a presidential debate in 20 years

Even after the ridiculous amount of sexism we’ve seen in politics in the last few years, I have to admit I was a little taken aback to learn it’s been a full 20 years since a woman has moderated a presidential debate. So it’s a big effing deal, and about damn time, that Candy Crowley will host this year’s second presidential debate, according to Politico’s sources. Crowley’s selection came following increased pressure for a lady moderator, including a petition from three high school feminists.

A lot has been written about just how dishonest the Romney campaign has been to date. Maddow Blogs’ Steve Benen has a weekly roundup of the biggest falsehoods of the Republican presidential hopeful and he’s able to come up with exhaustive and lengthy lists every single week.

Cain campaign continues attacks on women with sexist comments and victim-blaming “truth site”

It’s been an exceptional 24 hours for Herman Cain, even by Cain-sian standards.

The pizza mogul, former lobbyist and Republican frontrunner for the presidential nomination has exceeded all of our wildest dreams with his recent string of gaffes, attacks, and inappropriate laughs.

First there was the “Princess Nancy” comment during last night’s Republican debate. TPM notes that although Cain later admitted that this was a comment he “probably shouldn’t have made,” the sarcastic slur was repeated on Cain’s official Twitter account, which tweeted:

“The answer to Health Care: HR3000, the bill killed by “Princess Nancy” in committee #tcot #cnbcdebate”

Lord knows I can be a little too fond of nicknames at times, but even I know better ...
