How many more times is the media going to fall for GOP Obamacare lies?

It’s like deja vu all over again! This week the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office released a report with new analysis of the impact of Obamacare on the economy. The report, which analyzed the economic outlook from 2014-2024, concluded that Obamacare will cause a reduction in the labor force by the end of 2024. 2.3 million workers will drop out of the labor force either by deciding not to work or reducing their hours. Apparently, retiring early sounds a lot better than pulling double shifts at a thankless job so you can keep your health insurance.

The CBO concluded that: “The estimated reduction stems almost entirely from a net decline in the amount of labor that workers choose to supply, ...

Map of the Day: Is abortion insurance coverage banned where you live?

As we covered before, bans on insurance coverage of abortion have become a popular anti-choice tactic in recent years. Twenty-four states have banned Obamacare plans from covering abortion. But an anti-choicer’s work is never done and now states are prohibiting all private insurance plans from covering the procedure.

Video: How Obamacare is a win for women

Back when the media was in a frenzy over the Obamacare Web site “glitches,” I wrote a post about how they were missing the point. Access to affordable healthcare is life changing and once the Web site got fixed, which it did, people would sign up in droves. Nearly 9 million did.

Women no longer face codified gender discrimination under the old health insurance system. That is life changing. That’s why I was so frustrated back in November when the media was in hysterics over the web site rollout debacle. Did it take me a few tries to sign up for health care? Yes. But it took me longer to upgrade my iPhone and I had the patience ...

Breaking: Supreme Court will decide if companies can deny their workers contraception coverage because #WWJD?

The Supreme Court announced it will rule on two cases asking that companies be allowed to deny workers insurance coverage for contraception if it violates the corporation owners’ beliefs. Let’s hope the court prioritizes not violating reproductive rights.

Forget the headlines: Here are 5 fundamental facts about Obamacare (with bonus GIFs)

1. You have until December 15th to sign up.

I’m currently uninsured and I’ve gone onto the New York exchange to compare my options.  Like I’ve said before, I had 124 choices, so going through them is taking time.  But let’s be real: I’m probably going to be like this until the first deadline on December 14th:

And for people who are uninsured who want to avoid the $95 penalty, you have until March 31st to sign up.  Only the people who want coverage beginning on January 1st, have to sign up by December 15th.  We all procrastinate.  Most Americans will sign up at the very last minute.
