Fox News’ Megyn Kelly Rails Gallagher On Paid Maternity Leave

I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but for the first time, I have respect for something a Fox News correspondent said.

Megyn Kelly just returned from maternity leave to find that radio host Mike Gallagher had been talking smack about the fact that she had three months off from work — saying that it was “a racket” and “unbelievable.” Big mistake. Kelly went to town on him in a pretty bad-ass way, pointing out that the U.S. is the only industrialized nation that doesn’t require employers for paid maternity leave. Via Think Progress:

Fox News: Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem having an “anchor baby”

I guess the question is: How surprised should we be?

We actually should be, considering it’s coming from Fox News Latino, out of all sections of Fox News. Colorlines brought attention to the abysmal headline above the news that actors Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem are having their child in Los Angeles. One hot child at that, but an anchor baby? Are the folks at Fox News Latino actually aware of the ridiculously offensive meaning of that term?

One would think yes, considering Colorlines found some background info on managing editor Alberto Vourvoulias-Bush’s sentiments about Fox News Latino when it launched just this October:
