As you’ve probably read, President Obama made what people are calling a surprise move on Friday by announcing that the Department of Homeland Security will relax immigration policy in efforts to halt the deportation of young undocumented immigrants. Some DREAM activists say this announcement is merely a reinforcement of not-so-successful efforts announced year ago by the administration that they would halt the deportation of many DREAMers and other young undocumented youth. Friday’s announcement also came during the same week that DREAMers had begun to stage a number of actions at different Obama campaign offices across the country.

House Republicans have stooped low in their all-out war on women by turning an issue that has never been bipartisan–that violence against women is a bad thing–into a partisan one voting 222-206 in support of a ridiculous, callous and watered down version of the Violence Against Women Act.
