Bring Feministing to your campus!

Since the Fall of 2009, Feministing has been traveling to college campuses to talk feminism – from the “war on women” to transgender liberation, from building consent culture on campuses to racial justice, from online activism to Beyonce. And we’re hitting the road again for our sixth year! We’re currently booking events for this current school year, so now’s a great time to get in touch about bringing us to campus. We’ve got brand new speaking event options this year – check out our speaking tour page for all the details, and read on to learn about our panels.

Bring Feministing to your campus for Women’s History Month!

Feministing is currently in the middle of our fifth annual speaking tour, when we travel to colleges and community centers to talk feminism, organizing, and blogging with students, activists, and professors. Our busiest month of events is always March, which is Women’s History Month,  And we want to make sure you get a chance to bring Feministing: Offline and Unfiltered to your school.

As we approach Feministing’s 10th anniversary in April, we’re asking ourselves questions about the state of feminism: how has the movement changed over the past decade, both online and off? What’s next for the feminist internets? What we can do to keep building power and winning feminist victories? We can talk about a bunch of topics we’re engaged in, ...

Coming forward as a survivor can be tough, but — as the last few years of student anti-violence activism have shown — can also instigate institutional change.

The producer writes:

We’re an Oscar and Emmy nominated film team currently working on ...

Friday Feminist Fuck Yeah: ‘Know Your IX’ campaign to stop sexual violence

“You’ve just been raped by a student who lives down the hall from you. You suppose you’ll have to stick out the rest of the year seeing him every morning on your way to class. You work with him at your campus job. You decide you’ll just have to grin and bear it. He begins stalking and harassing you. You start to consider withdrawing from school for your own safety and mental health.”

This is the nightmarish, fucked up situation that play out all too often as every year, thousands of young women and men are sexually assaulted by their fellow students.

Simply knowing your rights in a situation like this can make all the difference.

That’s the message being put ...
