I have to respectfully disagree on one issue. If you want to avoid, really avoid gender essentialism, and you really think both men and women should have certain traits, don’t call some of them “feminine” and others “masculine”. Just call them human. You can explain that historically, and erroneously, these qualities were gendered, but they [...]

Haven’t been blogging at all, but recently put a song to a slide-show video. It was produced as a result of a grant from the Ontario Arts Council and essentially describes the damage caused by xenophobic pro-natalist attitudes.

I understand only too well why and how men can become misogynistic when they feel like outsiders. My brother was one of those guys. He schooled me and steeped me so much in his worldview that I was unable to defend myself against predators, because I was supposed to feel sorry for them. Too much [...]

Did anyone hear someone mention women were taking over the world? Because the last time I checked, people who control the world a) do not have to go on strike over anything , especially not with a backup in the house (aka, husband); and b) they sure as hell don’t make international headlines just for not doing [...]

About this whole “Some people are not going to like you, basic fact of life. Believe me when I say that this doesn’t matter “. I beg to differ. When people dislike you, they will do everything they can to make sure you lose your job. Then you will not speaking anywhere, about anything. Been [...]

Using gendered inanities to command us to behave in ways that will reassure you all is well with the world is as stupid as telling the rain to go back where it came from. I am quite belligerent and have been accused many times of “acting like a man”. This was not intended as a [...]

Watch what you think, or you won’t get an income: Corporate Big Brother’s underhanded way to try and crush feminism, along with any other dissent. This is a huge threat to our freedom to express ourselves, to organize, and to make a difference.

I online dated years ago and haven’t done it since. One guy was particularly sleazy; luckily, I googled him successfully before meeting him. He’d [...]
