“Culturally intricate = misogynistic.”
The readers should remember this the next time someone on this site says we should be cautious when condemning backwards cultural practices of other cultures or countries.

You don’t see anything wrong with Latino roles making up less than half of their actual population size?

A straight buddy of mine complained about being in the “friendzone” with a woman we knew despite all the stuff he did for her. He said this when I, a gay man, was helping him study. Just to repeat that. He, a person attracted to women, complained about helping a woman who did not have [...]

The second infograph is a bald-faced lie. First, it has nothing to do with ethnicity. The infograph maker apparently doesn’t know that “Israeli citizen” and “Jewish” are not synonymous. Second, Palestinians go to the beach all the time. Unless one thinks all these photos are photoshopped by the Jewish/Illuminati conspiracy. https://www.google.com/search?q=Gaza+Beach&hl=en&safe=off&client=firefox-a&hs=FIx&tbo=u&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&source=univ&sa=X&ei=1siqUIznMuP00gGYFg&ved=0CDEQsAQ&biw=1024&bih=575 Third, the biggest restrictions [...]

The article even mentions Turkey, which it calls [...]

You know how straight guys have “man-crushes”? What’s the equivilant of that for gay dudes, because that’s what I have for Ms. Pelosi.
In a better world*, she’d be Speaker again.
Also, there might have been a typo at the end of the post.
* A better and less gerrymandered world.

Alexa, I thought the same too. Luckly the asskickers at the Center for Constitutional Rights were two steps ahead of us. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/03/15/us/ugandan-gay-rights-group-sues-scott-lively-an-american-evangelist.html?_r=0 The law they are using has often been used to fight corporate-connected human rights violations. That said, I’m no expert on that law and there seem to be some First Amendment issues. Saying [...]

“I try to be very careful of how I critique issues in other countries and cultural contexts” Why? Do violent bigots on other continents require kid gloves while non-violent bigots on this continent don’t? Do gay people in Washington, Minnesota, Maine, and Maryland deserve our hard work, time, and resources while gay people in Uganda [...]
