Thank Dionysus that Yale is actually being fined for it. =/ Normally I’d just expect them to wave their alumni clout and make all the charges go away.

No Rush Limbaugh, I think the current GOP platform and voting block is a plot by the democrats to make the GOP look bad. xP also…cockfighting because…as far as troll logic goes, that’s right up there with “If Chewbacca lives on Endor you must acquit.” It’s not like we take out fetuses and have them [...]

This certainly had an impact on my generalized antipathy towards fraternities and frat members. It’s like, actually refreshing to see something with a frat that does not contain serious chauvinism.

  • The “bad role model” claim is one of the most pernicious ways fat-shamers remind successful not-skinny women that they aren’t allowed to have nice things.

  • Dionysus and Ostara help us. This is morally repugnant and deeply horrifying.

It’s almost grimly satisfying to see a fat-hater cut out some of their pretenses. =/

I pray to Dionysus the Violence against Women act gets through.

  • So now the unwritten procedure is apparently written. Ugh. The level of blacklash and silencing in this affair astounds me.

PS: I’m also thankful for the chance to watch the MST3K Turkey Day Marathon host segments and Turkey Day version of Night of the Blood Beast with a friend of the family who’s a fellow mysty that just dropped by. I’m thankful that I’m in a demographic with far less oppression to deal with. I [...]

I’m thankful that I get to experience Thanksgiving with people I love, with a family that has always supported me in my paths, encouraged me, and treated me with empathy. They don’t hurt me or debase me or abuse me in any way. I know many people aren’t so lucky. I’m also thankful for Quorn [...]

I’m sorry women have to put up with this gremplork. I’ll keep trying to be a good ally and shutting this down when I spot it in men-friends.

Excellent. It’s awesome to see her telling this concern-troll off. It’s awful to hear the “but you are saying being fat is okay which is a bad message for youth especially for GIRLS, because fat men feeling okay is just kinda annoying but fat women feeling okay is DANGEROUS” gremplork couched in such “reasonable” language. [...]

  • Wat. >< I know there's a lot of nasty patriarchal stuff going on among men in power, but WOW. An MP should really know better.

I’ve been reading the blood of mystery and thinking grim, cold thoughts. Still, it’s nice that we have a system of succession that involves peaceful transfer of power from own administration to another rather than military coups.

On Shades of Grey, I don’t mind it because the title tells you up-front it will be boring. Shame about Teen Vogue. Reading my contributor’s copy of Andromeda Spaceways Inflight Magazine. Watching My Little Pony, Night of the Creeps, and The Amazing Spider Man (which mops the floor with the Sam Raimi trilogy btw). Should [...]

  • “Wouldn’t it be funny if-” Somebody other than Tosh was on stage? Why yes, it would. George Carlin said that you can get away with any bad taste joke if it’s funny enough. Except this isn’t remotely funny, or a even a joke. Oh, right, things become “jokes” when a minor celebrity says or does [...]

I was kind of hoping they just didn’t realize what they implied with “no means yes”, but then I saw the text in the lower-right corner saying “Oh yes we did”. -_- Not cool.

Incidentally, “artisan” is a word that cannot be technically used to describe anything mass-produced, and so is false advertising here.

  • I think I get what Jos is saying. “While other folks are able to do their identities in a range of ways, ours have to somehow be politically perfect,” is a quote-worthy sentences that might see a lot of use in metafeminist discussions.

Oh those wacky hate groups. I imagine the reasoning goes something like this “Lots of people think racism is bad. I don’t think I’m bad, therefor, I must not be a racist.”

CNN: If you’re watching this, your flight has been cancelled.

Yeah, GOP, people have stopped buying the “I meant to do that” excuse since Shamalan used it to cover his behind over The Happening.
