I put “We Shall Overcome” (1963 Pete Seeger live version) on my iPod on my way home from work and sang along at the top of my lungs until I couldn’t hold back the tears. It’s incredible how far we’ve come, but there’s still so much work to do.

As a student of British history, I also think it’s really weird to specifically pick Anglo-Saxon heritage out of the mix.
