except for being “white” and set in NYC, I don’t think sex and the city is like GIRLS at all. SATC made me want to puke. GIRLS was really entertaining. I think two of the actresses are Jewish…Lena Dunham described herself as Jewish in an interview. While she “looks” “white,” is her Jewish background considered [...]

The movie KIDS is certainly not about every KID. I don’t think KIDS needs to be renamed.
Deep Blue Sea has nothing to do with all the creatures of the sea.

TWIMC: I have an east coast sense of humor, and I find your Wodka Sex worker ad offensive because it compares real people to cheap vodka. Equating a person’s worth with their work compensation is also offensive; I know for a fact I am currently worth more per hour than my 8 dollar an hour [...]

Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout. A female friend loaned me this book during my first year in California after moving from my home of Maine. Olive is a female character who has been written like an actual human being. She is herself, for better of for worse. She is like a real person to me. [...]

Dr. Gabor Mate has some interesting things to say about the differences we see among populations in heart disease and other diseases, and why it is that in the US, African American men have a higher risk of heart disease than their “genetic relatives” on the African continent. He has a body/mind/spirit kind of approach [...]

PETA should stick to their exposes of chicken farm/factories. Maybe even the running of the nudes. But how can a company claim that you can’t objectify an animal and eat it by promoting said message with not-so-tongue-in-cheek visual declarations of female object-ness and violence against female bodies? Like, does anyone go, “Oh wow, that thoughtful [...]

I had a vegan boyfriend. he ran marathons and laughed at my politically sardonic jokes. We hated PETA together. We enjoys birding and plant identification, as well as cooking and hanging out in the woods. I loved him. I hate this video.
