The Spunky Blonde Lady With An Accent is an awards favorite, and she’s not stopping this year. Disney’s resurrected the Seabiscuit franchise with Diane Lane in a bad wig. Thanks for the link. That’s a great piece. Holly Golightly! Yes! What a kook she is. I actually considered writing about Penny Lane, too, but tried to keep the selection fairly current, as I’m looking at a trend.
I’ll have to read the Scott Pilgrim novels. I keep hearing good things.

Hi @jss, I’m not necessarily objecting to the type, merely observing its increasing commonality. So my issue is more with a general lack of diversity in female TV/movie roles. Those characterizations that strive to be “different” or “alternative” tend to distinguish themselves by assigning arbitrary quirks to a woman (I mean, having a million hamsters? Really?). [...]
