This post brings to mind the Empty Glass for Water campaign. It was started by a woman in my community in response to the 109+ First Nations in Canada without access to clean, safe water.
It is an interesting feminist issue, as it not only affects public health and safety, but First Nations women in particular have an inherited role to be the traditional keepers and spiritual protectors of water, and have taken a lead in bringing this movement to the national level.
