The “suit and tie” bit is a reference to HOV (Jay Z) collaborating with Justin Timberlake in the new song “Suit and Tie.” I think the line plays both ways. I found the rape analogy in the Lena Dunham article super problematic and icky. I realize the intent is to say that no one forced Dunham to do the filming against her will, but it is an awful and appropriative analogy. Sexual violence should not be used to pack a punch in a metaphor. Plus, [...]
