International Women’s Week

Hello all! I’m not new to feministing, but this is my first post! *waves*

I’m the Vice President of a University Feminist society here in the UK, and I thought I’d let you know what we have planned in celebration of International Women’s Day.

In celebration of the 100th anniversary of International Women’s Day, the University of Kent, Canterbury’s Feminist Society will be taking over campus with a week full of women-centric events and activities. We’ve paired up with the Amnesty Society to put on workshops, talks, panels, film screenings, a production of the vagina monologues and much much more!

Details of the whole week can be found here;

So if there is anyone lurking on the boards from Kent in the UK, please come along and join us! There literally is something for everything, and it’s all kicking off tomorrow evening with at 1920’s use your vote party, to celebrate our achievment in gaining equal voting rights with men!

To all our international friends, please keep us posted with what you guys will be doing this year in solidarity for women everywhere!
