Sex work: Part II (It’s political)

It’s been quite some time since I wrote about my personal relationship with sex work on my personal blog. Our relationship went on for eight years. But a couple of years ago, after I survived an exceptionally dangerous situation I promised myself I would never put myself in, I decided to just be friends with sex work and stop bringing it back into my life and my bedroom. I still believe that the rights of sex workers need to be dramatically improved, but I’m not the right kind of person to engage in it. My motivations for engaging in sex work were, quite simply and without exaggerating, the most dangerous. This journal entry concerns how some of those experiences gave me insight into what dangers sex workers face and how those problems need to be addressed.
