I’ve started College half a year back. (In the UK if you didn’t know College comes between High School and University, I don’t know how many Brits are on this site.) I’m doing Sociology and I’m being taught the basics and some in-depth stuff and we’ve been talking about patriarchy and society benefiting men at the expense of women and I’ve wondered…how do I as a man benefit from this?

Take the Expressive and Instrumental roles for example. Traditionally applied they mean that women are economically disadvantaged and men still do most of the economic work whilst women still do most of the domestic word meaning women are discriminated against and unfairly so but when you think about it does that instantly mean men benefit from that?
