Margaret Cho is getting her own reality show on VH1.
THE CHO SHOW (7 Episodes - 30 Minutes)Thirteen years after her catastrophic foray into television, Margaret Cho is triumphantly returning to television in a new reality-sitcom on VH1 in "The Cho Show." This time it's on her own terms.
Margaret burst onto the scene in 1994 with her sitcom "All American Girl" and her struggles with the network over that show are legendary. After the show was canceled, Margaret channeled all of that negative energy from her network experience into a wealth of comedy material that fueled her rise as one of the hottest comics in the business.
This VH1 series will follow the irrepressible Margaret Cho and her eccentric entourage as she fights to be herself in an industry that in the past wanted her to be something other than herself. The series will touch upon all aspects of Margaret's "anything goes" lifestyle, from the strained and awkward moments provided by her somewhat traditional Korean parents to the more irreverent and outrageous moments shared with her colorful cast of friends and colleagues.

Oooh, I'm so excited! I love Margaret! Sounds like it could be fun. :)
I'll have to find some way to watch it... I don't get VH1. Hm.
Hmm. I'll watch it, and I really hope that it's good. But I have to say that I'm kind of skeptical. VH1 has a thing where the goal of every reality show is to make its stars look like total morons -- and this goes double for women. Their gender politics are outrageously far from progressive. Though the Salt-n-Peppa show was tolerable.
This is a must watch.
I'm with you, sabortijuana. I'm going to watch it but I'm a bit worried about the whole VH1 thing. Hopefully she'll get some new fans and a big career boost.
Despite my hardcore vh1 aversion, I am SO watching this. She's the best. If I had to pick a feminist hero, it would definitely be her.
Ugh. A reality show? Has it come to that?
Sounds awesome! I've really started to like Margaret Cho in the past few months, and I hope this goes well.
If this show is half as good as The Sensuous Woman, I'm down. Margaret Cho is fabulously feminist.
Overall the murder rate in metro Rio is declining. It is now 50 per 100,000 inhabitants per annum, down from 78 in 1994, although in some favelas like Baixada Fluminense the murder rate is still 76. But it is not only murder that shifts perceptions. ‘Gunmen rob British coach party in Rio – Raiders storm airport bus carrying 33 elderly British tourists – cameras and jewellery worth thousands snatched,’ read a headline earlier this year.
The road that links Rio’s international airport to the glitzy South Zone has become notorious in recent years for carjackings and shootings. In Rio they speak of the ‘parallel power’ that traffickers exert while enriching themselves, or even of a ‘parallel state’.
