"I love feministing.com and always learn from it." Katha Pollitt, The Nation
"Many people need a morning "fix." For some, it's coffee. For others, it's "SportsCenter." For me, it's Feministing.com." Katie Stone, The Denver Post
"Feminism is fun again! Every bit as edifying as your women's studies books from college, but with a biting sense of humor that keeps things punchy, not preachy." Marie Claire, December 2006
If you've never checked out Jay Smooth at Ill Doctrine, you really should. I just love this vlog he did about ten of his favorite quotes from Martin Luther King Jr., ones that you don't hear all that often. Nice.
If folks want to share their favorite MLK folks in comments...feel free.
I visited the King Center last year and bought two postcards with these quotes on them:
"Rarely do we find men who willingly engage in hard, solid thinking. There is an almost universal quest for easy answers and half-baked solutions. Nothing pains some people more than having to think."--Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
"Most people are thermostats that record or register the temperature of majority opinion, not thermostats that transform and regulate the temperature of society"--Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
I kind of figured someone else would have already put up my favorite MLK quote -- the one I usually use as my sig, in fact -- but I didn't think it would be the first of two posts!
"In the end, we will not remember the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends."
I liked number 9 on war and social programs. Seems like all the presidential candidates want to spend more on improving the military. Some things don't seem to change.

Everyone can be great because everyone can serve.
I may be paraphrasing a little but that's always been one of my favorites from being an AmeriCorps alum.
Now I'm a volunteer coordinator so it's my mantra when I'm out cheerleading for my volunteers.
