Why I'm MIA

I'm putting the finishing touches on my new book (note the new and improved title), which is due this week. So you won't be seeing that much of me till I'm all done--at which point I'll be very cranky so expect some super-snark. In the meantime, I hope you'll settle for shameless self-promotion: you can pre-order the book here. Feel free to do you own self-promoting in comments.

Congratulations, Jessica! I like the reworked title. It encapsulates your style and surely what's inside well.
I can't shake the feeling, though, that there should be an "of" or an "about" at the very end of the title! Or would that be incorrect English? Ending with a preposition? Heh!
Dang, you're getting to be prolific. I'm looking forward to the read. Congratulations and cheers.
I can't wait for this! This would be a fantastic read for women to encourage men in their lives to pick up as well. I'm very close to some guys that for the most part are amazing to women - so amazing, in fact, that they often are completely unaware of any prejudice against women. This sounds like a fabo introduction for people...Great job and good luck, Jessica!!
Yay! New book, new book, new book! Pardon me while I have a fan girl moment. *grin*
I preordered mine laste week! I'm seriously excited. :-D
Fantastic! Looks good, sounds good, I can't wait to read it!
I went to my local library online to see if I could find you in there, Jessica, and they do have a copy of Full Frontal Feminism, which I placed a hold on immediately. (I don't really have the money to be purchasing books right now, I must get all of my lit from the library.) And then I filled in a request form asking them to purchase this new book so that I and others may be able to read and benefit from it as well!
And I concur with Amanda Stein about encouraging the men in our lives to pick this one up as well - I certainly plan on doing so myself!
Mucho Kudos, Jessica!
YEAH!! I am so excited for your new book and I love the new title! I can't wait to read your new book and good luck on the finishing touches!
Oh man, if I weren't a broke college student I would be all-tha-fuck over this.
...I can eat in the caf and go without gas for a week or two, right?
The re-worked title is great!
I look forward to reading your book, Jessica. I'm a professor of Roman history currently working on a book manuscript on the origin of the "slut" stereotype 2000 years ago in Rome. It's actually more prevalent in societies where women have some freedoms and economic independence than in the most misogynist, patriarchal societies, as it turns out. I suspect this is because it's a last-ditch effort to restrain/rebuke women for too much independence.
Best of luck!
Perfect title, perfect look, perfect topic-- congratulations Jessica! I can't wait to read the book and start talking it up!
The book looks great! I can't wait to get it. (Yours too Faecenia, sounds exactly like my kind of read.)
Faecenia, have you read Naomi Wolf's "The Beauty Myth"? Her thesis is similar, but in relation to ever-restricting standards of beauty and dress.
Oh, I didn't mean to leave you out, Jessica! Mucho congratulations on the new book! If I had the money, I would totally buy it... ::sad face::
I totally dig the new title.
congrats! this will be the next book i buy and then pass around to my friends that need to read it. hooray!
shameless self-promotion mode engaged:

Did someone say self-promotion??? Check out my Squidoo Lens: Advice for the new Feminist
Can't wait!
I still like the stripes!
yay! can't wait!
another book to pass on to all my near and dear!
Self-promotion ... does it count if I haven't had an article there in a while? Revolution newspaper is read by prisoners and professors and high school kids and by hopefully a whole bunch of Feministers (did I conjugate the verb right?). And it's bilingual in English and Spanish too. (And I do write for it sometimes.)
Hey Jessica, maybe you've blogged on this before, but aspiring writers would probably love to hear the story behind your books: Did you first write the manuscripts and shop them around? Or were you approached to do them? What was your experience getting them published (I remember the brouhaha about the cover for FFF).
That'd make an interesting essay.
Congratulations! That's exciting!
And, in the vein of shameless self-promotion, everyone should check out my blog, Asexy Beast:

Great title, the extra edge will get more people to pick it up and hopefully learn something!

Muah! Jessica, you are the shit. I have been reading this blog for ages, but rarely comment... but I had to give some love to you, because you're using your voice in a way that all of us should. Congrats, woman :) I'm going to buy as many copies as I can and give them to everyone I know as Christmas presents.
Congratulations! I think I will buy it for my daughter.
And now some shameless self promotion. My blog on feminist homeschooling: www.edgychronicles.blogspot.com
I do plan to update it soon with an article on children and activism.
Fuckin awesome title Jessica. I can't fuckin wait. I love you.
Congratulations Jessica. It looks terrific.
Why do only women need to know the double standards?
