Monday Monty Blogging (chill out edition)

On Mondays I'm generally a ball of stress. Today, for example, I'm freaking because I didn't answer nearly enough emails over the weekend or get any writing done because I thought it was more important to lay on the couch and watch the entire season of Dexter. And then I saw Monty sleeping like this.
So, on this most stressy of days, I suggest that we all take a cue from Monty and use our office chairs for deep relaxation and napping, not working. (A gal can wish, no?)

Awww, but that can't too comfortable. For how long did he nap like that before waking up?
he's so f'ing cute. it's ridiculous.
i wish i had a monty
I can't believe how big he is! My cats do that alot; sleeping in positions that can't possibly be comfortable. Freaks.
Heh! That does not look very comfterbuls, but it looks like Monty's lovin' it! I wish I could fall asleep as easily as that. Fluffies.
When everything is wrong with the world, I look at Monty and I realize ...at least I am not sleeping on the foot of a chair.
But my God, that's one cute kid. Although I doubt he no longer has puppy breath.
Yeah, but when he wakes up, he'll probably head to the computer to check out Jessica's interview @ The Nation. http://www.thenation.com/doc/20071015/bennett
Right on, Jessica! You totally earned the Dexter-a-thon!!
So weird, that's what my husband and I did this weekend. Except we cuddled with our new kitten "Loki." Dexter is awesome.
I second the "Dexter is awesome" thing. Only Michael C. Hall and good writing could make a serial killer into a hero, however cringe-inducing. It's like the "Pretty Woman" or serial killers...sex workers aren't rescued by Richard Gere types and I've never heard of a sociopath with a "conscience", but hey, if it works, it works.
I don't understand how pets can be comfortable like that. Just today my dad sent a photo of one of my cats sleeping on the toaster oven. That photo and this look about equal on the comfort scale.
Maybe it's because I have to sleep in such a specific position--flat on back, feet raised, knees bent, arms at sides--that I can't quite get it (and I wake up frequently anyway).
Man, I envy that level of comfort your dog is experiencing ... *siiigh*
Jessica promoting Dexter on Feministing? A woman after my own heart;). Season two started last night, don't forget:). And Monty is adorable.
Damn straight, UltraMagnus. After meeting you, and then hearing from so many of my friends how awesome the show was, I decided just to sit down and watch all of them. Hee.
I have Dexter in my Netflix queue. I can't wait...love Michael C. Hall.
Also, a little tip, always look before you roll. I have caught my dog's fur (specifically tail-fur) more than once during a hurried office chair egress. But, there is nothing better than looking down and seeing a sweet, sleeping dog (or cat) at your feet...gives me all kinds of warm and fuzzy feelings.
Monty rocks. I look forward to seeing him every time I check Feministing - gotta have the fuzzy puppa cuteness!
