This is just rediculous. Chris Matthews has way too much influence on the national conversation than he should. And he makes it ok for other male pundits to act similarly, and for female pundits to expect this kind of treatment. THis seems like a double standard to me, if you're looking for them. I'm just disgusted. A Hillary presidency won't change this stuff either - it will send it underground, and it'll get real nasty. (I'm for Hillary or Obama, either would be a step in the right direction).

I hope he gets a blank stare next time. Maybe easier said than done - Burnett was totally caught off guard, but it's a shame if she's expected to 'play along'.

He spoke at my school not too long ago, and most of what he said was pretty good but I remember at one point he kept talking about how attractive Hilary Clinton was in person, and how it didn't come across on TV and that was going to hurt her in the election. I remember being like... uh... relevance?

That's just overcompensating; he secretly desires to be cradled in the strong, protective arms of Fred Thompson.

I watch Hardball everyday (it really is the best of its ilk) and CMatthews pulls this kind of stuff every time they have a female guest under the age of 40 on the show.

1). He didn't respond to anything she said - as though it didn't deserve to be taken seriously
2). He played her with that 'get close to the camera'. She thought there was something wrong with the feed

I'd like to point out, that what she's saying is pretty disgusting. Essentially, she's saying that predatory loaning proves that many poor people can't handle home ownership. Again, its victim blaming. If you're low income and if you're credit isn't great because you make a low wage and paying the bills/having food is often a decision at the end of the month, then you deserve to be subject to loans that essentially amount to usury. The markets are in chaos right now primarily because predatory loans and loan policies are set up to screw over the poor. These type of policies, which are morally and socially bankrupt, are now harming more than just "the undeserving poor" but effecting middle-class financing as well. Anyway, my point is that she's spewing hateful bullshit and he's fantasizing about her sexually, and NO ONE IS DELIVERING THE NEWS.

While I understand Chris would rather fondle his guests than listen to their opinion I have to state I am more disgusted by her ecomomic opinions. The statement about homeownership not being a right makes me want to smack her. And to add insult towards our democratic rights she also stated that American comsumers need to accept tainted trade products from China or we would have to increase our prices at Walmart which would effect all Americans.

Yes it makes my skin crawl watching Chris make her look like a shelf product but her opinions give me little respect for her as a person.
