i read (this was in 2001) about developing drugs that block the virus's docking site on the cell. does anyone know if there is more research/development going on in this vein? there would vast implications if this was developed, not only for the fight against hiv/aids but also for birth control.
An old classic:
To the tune of "Doe a deer"
Intro:
When it comes to contraception,
if you leave it up to men:
Pregnant, yes, pregnant is what you’ll be!
It’s just the same with HIV! (HIV)
The end result just happens to be
Infected women, obviously! (Obviously)
Song:
Just a condom, a lousy condom
Always leaves men with the control.
Tell Clinton we need MICROBICIDES,
Prevention for women is our goal!
It’s a key to global AIDS,
Even if we get vaccines,
put the power in women’s hands
from New Delhi to New Orleans!
Complicated bridge:
It’s our choice, on our terms
Spread the lube, stop the germs!
Share the love up on the Hill,
Fund the research, pass the bill!
Song (a little different this time):
Just a condom, a lousy condom
Always leaves men with the control.
Tell Clinton we need MICROBICIDES,
Prevention for women is our goal!
Think about it, Hillareeeeee!
With a guy who’s got a lot to hide.
You don’t know where he has been....
What you need’s MICROBICIDES!
