you have to realize that this nomination comes from the "Ronald Reagan Legal Center", a group whose sole purpose is to wreak havoc on teacher's unions and environmental agencies.

From what I can tell, they just use the Freedom of Information Act to request information from these "evil liberal" groups, and then they sue them for not complying, with the hopes that they will then be too busy dealing with the lawsuit to actually enact change.

Actually, I'd place my father rather right-of-center, and while I disagree with him on quite a few socio-political issues, I'd hardly say that I have disdain or contempt for him. Personally, my dislike of Rush stems a lot more from him saying things like "Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream."

But, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that you don't think his rabid disdain for and contempt of all people and ideas that left of far right consign him to nothing more than footnote status within quack-pottery.

I once listened to him SCREAM about his hatred of nudists (or as he says "perverts") for an entire show. I mean its one thing not to feel comfortable with nudity but to HATE it?
I also heard his screaming about "the blacks" in the aftermath of Katrina. I couldn't listen to him for more than a minuet, he was so ignorant and hatefull.

I'm not even sure what Rush even likes. Punishment maybe? He does seem to be down with punishment (death penalty, the war in Iraq, the war on drugs).

Actually, I think Rush hates for the sake of ratings and money. Between those that love him and those that hate him, he knows people will listen because he says that shit. And if you don't agree, think of the times a rather mild thread here suddenly got over 100 comments because some troll laid some bait and everyone took it.

That really goes to show how little a nomination means. A not so select group of individuals and organizations can offer up those nominations. It really irks me when both liberals and conservatives then use the nomination to prove that so-and-so is such a wonderful person/activist:
